Why we don’t show certain numbers

The things RollCall deliberately withholds — group totals of capacity, refund rates on the wrong denominator, uncalibrated occupancy — and the reasoning behind each.

Some numbers are left out on purpose

A dashboard earns trust as much by what it refuses to show as by what it shows. These are deliberate omissions, each with a reason.

No group total of capacity

RollCall never adds your venues' capacities into one headline number. A group-wide capacity figure would blend team-confirmed numbers with unconfirmed ones into a single authoritative-looking total that nothing has verified. Capacities are counted by readiness state instead, never summed.

No refund rate on this night's sales

The discount share deliberately excludes refunds. A night's refunds routinely settle sales from earlier nights, so dividing them by tonight's figures would not be a rate for tonight's sales — it would be a number with a mismatched top and bottom. Refund activity lives on the venue's own Sales page, on the right denominator.

No uncalibrated headcounts, and no cross-venue rankings

Occupancy is read as bands, not person-counts, until the model is calibrated for your room — so nothing here multiplies a guessed headcount into a guessed revenue-per-head. And no metric ranks your venues against each other by raw sales: a bigger room taking more money is size, not performance. Every comparison is a venue against its own history, or band-for-band at equal fullness.

No reading is a state, never a zero

When RollCall cannot see a room, it says so — "not being read" is a named state, and "no comparable night yet" resolves to one of four honest reasons. A gap is never quietly filled with a zero, because a zero is a claim, and "we can't see it right now" is the truth.
